Crail language
Write for 20 minutes analysing how media language is used to build representations of gender in this still image
in this Armani code advert we can see a sexualized representation of a man and a woman, the woman is very stereotypical with the red lipstick witch has further sexual connotations. This for the viewer will make the product seem more appealing especially to the heterosexual audience. The man in the advert being in a suit and bowtie presents an upper class sense about the fragrances, targeting the high end market of fragrances. The facial expressions of the man are virtually non existent as he stands their nonchalantly, while the woman on his side seems overwhelmed by the man who most likely is wearing the fragrance, this attracts a performative audience who have a drive to impress others. the advert has a very stereotypical image of a dominant man through body langue which is carefully constructed by mise-en scene. This is clear through the man piercing the camera with his stare while the woman seems timid and under control of the man.
